米、ヘウ゛ィメタ攻撃
武装勢力に効果！？
大音響で「精神的苦痛」・・・らしい。
イラクのファルージャで戦闘中の米兵が、軍用車などからメタリカやＡＣ／ＤＣといったヘビー・メタル・バンドの曲を大音響で鳴らし、イラク武装勢力に精神的な苦痛を与えるという心理作戦を展開している。メタリカのメンバーは米のラジオ番組に出演した際、この作戦について「文化が違うので、武器になるのだろうか…」と困惑まじりのコメントを述べた。
米音楽系メディアなどによると、この“メタル攻撃”は今春ごろから始まった。イスラム文化圏にはヘビー・メタルやハード・ロックといった音楽がなく、アラブ人にとってはこれを大音響で長時間、流されるとかなりの精神的苦痛になるという。その一方、米兵には戦場で士気を高めるのに大きな効果がある。
豪州出身のバンドＡＣ／ＤＣや米国のメタリカをはじめ、レッド・ツェッペリンやジミ・ヘンドリックスなど、一九六〇年代から八〇年代に活躍したハード・ロック・バンドの曲もひんぱんに流されるという。
楽曲を使われている当事者のメタリカのボーカル兼ギター担当、ジェームス・ヘットフィールド氏（４１）は今月初め、出演したラジオ局で「米国でも、この種の音楽が好きな人たちの家族にとって、一日中聴かされるのは拷問のようなものだけど…」などと話した。
すごいですね、この攻撃。
でも戦争ってこんな戦い方ならまだいいかなぁ。

オーケストラの指揮者の人が、音楽をやる理由の一つにコンサートホール内で人々が音楽を聴いたり奏でたりしてる時は人は争いをやめるから。と言っていました。それが心に残ってます。自分達の仕事もそうでしょう。
